I was a teenager, when I saw a Dobermann for the first time and I knew that was the dog for me. The Dobermann impresses me by his athletic structure, firm expression, joyfulness an also by his great capacity to work and make a team with his owner. Being fascinated by this breed, when I was 17(in 1980) I bought my first dobe. At the time, this meant a big financial effort for me but it was all worth it. Droll was not a successful show dog but he was excellent work dog. Unfortunately he developed liver cancer and died tragically at the age of seven. From this first experience I learned a lot about this breed , dog shows and work trials.

In 1994 I decided to breed, so I imported two females with a very good bloodline: Doriental Loren and Blackness Bessy (daughter of Jaron Royal Bell and granddaughter of Tor Bay de Amiluc). This was the beginning of the "FOCUS KENNEL".

Blackness Bessy was a deception. She produced only one litter consisting of a cub. The puppy was offered as a pet to a dobermann lover. Bessy died at the age of five. Sometimes breeding is unfair.

In 1997 I imported a very impressive female puppy, Vana Fortobella and a beautifull adult male Graaf Tila v. Neerlands Stam. Tila proved to be an excellent work dog although we started training quite late: He past the BH exam with 59 points out of 60 and scored "Excellent" at the Sch I exam with 271 points (100 points for attack). Tila was also a very good show dog, winner in: Romania, Yugoslavia, Croatia, Hungary, Greece, Bulgaria and Ukraine; he was the Mid and East European Champion in 1999 and second in Champion Class at the European Dog Show Poznan 2000. His offsprings were successful in shows: Focus Olla, Focus Orson, Focus Ozzy,Focus Ono,Focus Cardinal,Focus Castor, Focus Born to be Wild,Focus Bohemian Rhapsody. They won many RPJ, CAC,CACIB titles and some of them became Romanian Champions. Besides Tila I used for breeding some very important studs: Icaro di Villa Castelli, Baron Nike Renewal, Velenberg Julfil Dastin, Axel di Casa Ravasi, Casanova Altobello, Tamerlan iz Slavnoi Stai, Gino Gomez del Citone, Cillian Conor v. Jahrestal, Fedor del Nasi. Some of the pups resulted became winning show dogs and others are still young, but very promising.

Dobermanns born in Focus Kennel are now living in different countries: Canada, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, Greece, USA, Cyprus and Serbia.

If I ever intend to describe this passion, I can only say that is not just about seeking the perfect dobe, the prizes or the ring competition. It starts from the mind game of blood combinations, compatibilities, probability and the "gamble" on the best puppies in the litter and it ends with the joy of having a smart and beautifull purebreed animal.
